Greenhouse launches its first podcast series – This is My Playbook: Stories from the locker room of life
GREENHOUSE SPORTS HAS LAUNCHED ITS FIRST PODCAST SERIES ENTITLED THIS IS MY PLAYBOOK – STORIES FROM THE LOCKER ROOM OF LIFE.
Hosted by BBC broadcaster Simon Mundie, this new series of monthly 30-minute podcast episodes is focused on how people connected to our charity have overcome the most challenging times in their lives and – under the theme of the impact of good coaching or mentoring – what inspired, supported and encouraged them through these difficult moments. Some guests are household names known to millions, some not in public life at all but their stories and inspirations are no less extraordinary.
This theme is central to Greenhouse Sports and the young people we support. The first episode is with our Director of Coaching Jason Sugrue who tells his story of how he used the power of sport and mentorship to get his life back on track when his father was murdered when Jason was just 12 years old. Jason goes on the redefine success and explains the most rewarding achievement for him isn’t his countless national and international professional table tennis titles but his work changing the lives of young children who need a role model like him in their lives.
The podcast launches in celebration of Greenhouse’s 20th year as a charity, during which time they have supported more than 50,000 young people.
All This Is My Playbook podcasts are available here and across the usual podcast platforms such as Spotify, Apple’s I-Tunes, Amazon Music and Acast.
This podcast is proudly supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery who have awarded Greenhouse Sports more than £2.2m to help more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access life-changing coaching.
Coaching elite performers, it’s seen as elite but coaching the children that we work with to become elite human beings is more important than any trophy I could ever win…
