GREENHOUSE SPORTS AND 3I GROUP ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE A PIONEERING PARTNERSHIP WHICH HAS LAUNCHED THE CHARITY’S EXPANSION INTO COACHING IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR HISTORY.
Greenhouse Sports uses sports and mentoring to teach young people living in disadvantaged communities the key life skills that we often take for granted. 3i Group is a leading international investment company headquartered in London.
The new partnership jointly supports the launch of Greenhouse primary school programmes in Westminster and a new secondary school programme at Harris Academy Clapham.
On making the announcement. Greenhouse Sports CEO, Béatrice Butsana-Sita said:
“For the last 20 years we have worked with secondary schools across London but in September 2020, we extended our provision to primary schools because we were so concerned about the growing number of young children affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
ACEs are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance misuse in adulthood. We are so grateful to 3i for funding the launch of Greenhouse Primary in Westminster and in Clapham, giving hundreds of children in London a fair chance to succeed.”
Kathryn van der Croft from 3i Group said:
“We are delighted to support Greenhouse Sports in expanding their activities into primary schools through a donation from our Covid-19 Charitable Fund. The work Greenhouse does is transformational for all children, and we are very proud to support them in reaching more children younger in life, where their coaching and mentoring make a huge difference.”
